PSST: Want to learn a language?

There are various podcasts around to learn common languages like Mandarin and Spanish, but what if you want to learn Farsi or Swahili?

The US Defense department to the rescue.

One of my problems was that I ran into was that the "conversational Tagalog" books and tapes helped me if I wanted to go out for a date or hire a maid, but not if I wanted to ask one of the help if she was pregnant, or if the child of one of our farmers had a sore throat or was vomiting. so voila:
