Oh NO! MANOLO!

Manolo, the shoe blogger has come out of the closet.

He is actually a stout, food loving Christian father of four who lives in Iowa and who is a historian

Howard Miller, chair of the Department of History, Politics and Philosophy, has an eclectic past.
He served in the U.S. Army, where he learned Arabic. He worked as a stockbroker in California. He earned a master’s degree, an M. Phil. and a Ph.D. from Yale University researching Islamic culture and cuisine.
And he is Manolo, the Shoe Blogger, one of the first fashion bloggers on the Internet.
his blog on shoes is now intermittent, but he has a new blog HERE about food, with notes on Basque American cuisine, Sushi and Moroccan plumbing etc.

Here is an example, using the Iliad, the Temple sacrifices and the Eucharist as part of his discussion on the ancient auroch.
