But, as the Pope starts  approving of divorce, making nice with "green" eugenics types, and marginalizing those who ask if he is changing 2000 years of Catholic teachings by having his minions, including those in the mainstream Catholic press, call them names, and even get them fired for defending traditional Catholic morality, it only lets the nut cases sound more credible that something is rotten in the Vatican.

I doubt many non Catholics care about this, but it has many geopolitical implications.

The Catholic church is in danger of a major schism or worse (by worse, I mean bowing to the world and becoming trendier than thou social work type NGO (with a smattering of New Age feel good beliefs in the mix).

But like the USA in 2016 (or Wittenburg in 1517), just because you don't see the deplorables, doesn't mean they aren't there. Even Pope Benedict once predicted in the future the church would become small and weak, and have to rebuild itself from a remnant.

There was some minor news about an explosion in China: Not terrorism, so it was mentioned and then disappeared in the western press.

But the explosion is being used for cleaning out slums of their migrant workers. (i.e. migrants from rural areas who are living there illegally). from a HongKong paper.

why do I put it here? Because this might be the tip of the iceburg of growing resentment by those "illegal" internal migrants being pushed back into rural poverty.

So what's the controversy? Is it anti Islam (the dirty little secret is that a lot of Hindus died in various wars caused by Muslim invaders).

No, actually the opposite:
Rumors say the script rewrote the story to make her have a romantic attachment with the Muslim prince who invaded her land, and the revived Hindu religion fundamentalists are up in arms.

the screenplay is based on a Muslim poem relating the battle, so the film's version must be true, right? (/sarcasm).

why do I include it here? Because this could inflame the "religious" resentments in that land (actually ethnic resentments, but don't get technical).
