in other words, it will encourage suicide of those who feel they are useless eaters (and the dirty little secret is that feeling you are a burden on others, and being helpless or handicapped is a major reason for "assisted suicide", not pain).
of course, the philosophical question is if the soul/consciousness is the same as the brain (i.e. Descarte's "ghost in the shell").
and the scientific problem is that there is no proof that you could be revived. Even if there is a scientific breakthrough, you might be merely a clone of yourself, meaning you are dead but your twin will be revived.
But the bigger philosophical problem is the denial of death.
Sigh.
