Kids can't tell time

in the brave new world, kids can't add and subract (they use the calculator on their cellphone)

they can't spell or read cursive (LOL... not just a western problem: in China they look up the characters on their cellphone)

Now we find they can't read old fashioned clocks (also a problem in the UK).

my take? well, that will mess up the test we give to people to check for dementia.

clock drawing test:

The clock-drawing test is a simple tool that is used to screen people for signs of neurological problems, such as Alzheimer’s and other dementias. It is often used in combination with other, more thorough screening tests, but even when used by itself, it can provide helpful insight into a person’s cognitive ability.
I don't have too many problems with this for the future, because after all, how many of us can read sundials? but for now, it does make things difficult if your cellphone battery goes flat.
