In our prayers: Asian disasters

Indonesia had an earthquake and a ten foot tsunami that has left at least 300 dead.
they had an earthquake in August in a different area that killed over 500 people.

Sigh.

The typhoon that missed us is headed toward Okinawa and Honshu.

Japan has been hit by several typhoons this year that caused damage.

another miracle landing, except this one was an accident because apparently the pilot missed the runway. In Chuuk Island, in Micronesia.


All onboard survived, thanks to the locals rushing out in their small craft to help evacuate the passengers.

update: The US Navy construction workers were there and helped too.

here in the Philippines, the big news is that Duterte is trying to rescind the pardon of a guy who a couple years ago mounted a military coup against Arroyo, but since then got a pardon from the next president (PNoy) and so was elected to Congress.

I am not following the details.

and again, one politician  who opposed Duterte is again going to be released. She's a big hero for opposing Duterte. Just ignore that embarassing video (she was having an affair with her driver, but the video was photoshopped)
