there is a big trade fair in Manila, so both Joy and Chano are busy packing rice and other stuff to set up booths to sell our organic rice.

Ruby has an offer for a one year do gooder year scholarship. It was one of these things set up so rich elite American students can do good stuff and see how the other folks live; but for Ruby it is a bit absurd, since we don't live in a gated community but in the middle of a small town with a lot of poverty around us, and she is active in her church outreach.

But it would look good on her resume, so I don't know if she would take it.
