Family news

Joy is still in Canada visiting Ruby.

Kuya is at the farm harvesting rice.

Auntie Emie has a temporary shunt until her AV fistula for dialysis is placed next week. She is very tired, alas, and thin. They now have a dialysis machine in town so she doesn't have to go to Manila twice a week as she would have done in the past.

Sigh.

Doy and Chona are visiting for Undas and put flowers on Lolo's gravesite. I have been too sick to go there for two weeks, so am happy they did this. They are well, and their kids are grown and having grandkids in their adopted countries (i.e. the UK for Doy and the US for Chona).

The sad news is that a neighbor who was 8 months pregnant was found dead in her bedroom: She had been scheduled for a C section the next day, and had high blood pressure/pre eclampsia so presumably had a seizure/ stroke or heart attack.

Dr. A. said the baby was already dead when she got to the ER so no chance of saving the baby either.

Sigh.
