yesterday the water pump burned out and took out the electricity. So we turned on our generator, which later also burned out.
I do have a small back up generator, but since the electricity to the business side of our compound was working, we just put extension cords to the living quarters to keep the refrigerator and fans/lights running.
Luckily the electric company fixed it at 7 pm (kudos to NEECO!) so we are now able to use all our non essential electric appliances including modem/computer/tv.
Alas, the water pump is not working. We did connect a hose to city water, so we do have drinking water and can fill up a bucket for a bath. (ah, the wonderfulness of living in the third world).
Hopefully the water pump will be replaced later today, since there is a birthday party for kuya scheduled tonite.
