if a few burglars with CIA connections spying on the DNC caused the downfall of Nixon, then the politization of the CIA/FBI/MSM etc. should make anyone shudder.

the internet has made it possible for folks to question the one sided narrative, but you know, even way back when there were other sources: and I don't mean the extreme nutsy right, but the Catholic media that had reports of communist atrocities back in the 1960s when a lot of college students naively swallowed the anti American propaganda about VietNam, China, and communist liberation fights hook line and sinker... and later, I found that some on the right were not nuts but had reasonable arguments, because I started to watch CSPAN.
ordinary folks laugh at Trumpieboy's tweets, being exaggerated and funny, but they do manage to cut thru the propaganda deluge... but every time I hear he must be impeached for being bad but no actual facts and details being given to support that, well, it makes me wonder: is his real "crime" being against the plans of the elite?
Cut to an old classic book, Tragedy and Hope, and other books by Quigley, who taught at Georgetown.
The book is hard reading, but a narration of the text via Youtube allows me slowly to "read" the book.
And in the latest posted narration Tragedy and hope, chapter 17
is about the mindset of the internationalists vs the naive Americans during the cold war.
So the clash of opinions is not new: Quigley posits the mindset of the elites who are seen as wise, vs the naive stupid folks with other opinions (but the atrocities of the communists is ignored, the clash of civilizations seen as merely the clash of civilizations not the clash of free people vs the evil empire)...
Ironically, much of what he talks about in this chapter is dated, considering the revelations of the KGB archives showing the stupid folks pointing out that some of the elite's favorite people were actually working for the communists were on the right track.
