It is the first birthday for the baby of the secretary of the business, who lives with her family in a small room on the business side of the compound. The baby will be baptized this morning and then: Time to party. Relatives and friends invited, including us, of course.
The dogs were crazy barking early this morning: They started cooking before dawn, and at 5:30 am the pickup truck went out to pick up the lechon baboy: BBQ's suckling pig.
YUM.
I figure we'll all have food poisoning by tonite, but maybe not, since it is overcast (and raining on and off) and not too hot, and besides, I doubt any will be left by this afternoon.
The party is supposed to be in the garden on the business side of the compound (where there is a gazebo and places to eat: We use it for parties and sometimes rent it out) but if it rains they will move it into the large meeting room there after the (Pentecostal) church service that meets there every Sunday morning is finished.
I haven't seen if they rented a kareoke machine, but I wouldn't be surprised. Most large parties do have them, both for music and for guests to sing.
