AlJ has a long article about the world's largest refugee camp: of the Rohingye, who were Muslim Bengalis whose ancestors moved to Burma a century ago and are now being expelled by that country, and many live in make shift shelters in Bengldesh.
the article is not just a vague "ain't it awful and I talked to one person sob sob" type of report that too often is how it is framed in western media sites, but gets into the nitty gritty of the logistics. (one latrine for 54 people, how many people in each makeshift hut, and how do you build them from tarps and bamboo, etc.).
the plan is to send them back, but Myamar/Burma doesn't want them because they never assimilated, and there was a worry about Islamic terrorism being spread from these areas (this may be an exaggerated worry)... and of course where would they go if they return? and their homes have been destroyed so where would they go?
