Dr Campbell, who I usually agree with, has a post cynically evaluating the UK plan for the next epidemic/mass casulaty disease. Given the over reaction to covid, I see his point, but you know, diseaters do happen, so on my post I link to a lot of military manuals with plans about such disasters.

The Yogurt was used as a medicine and introduced by Buddhist monks who used it in rituals (Buddhism was originally from India) but apparently it's use disappeared as Buddhism evolved.
As for smallpox: It killed huge numbers until it became endemic and afterward mainly killed children.
