today is Noche Buena, where everyone goes to late evening mass with lots of hymns etc and then go home to eat a huge supper.
in the Philippines, a family feast is a way to celebrate, and since God and Jesus and Mary are part of the family and since Jesus first miracle was at a wedding feast, this is not seen as secular but as embracing everyone.
but the plaza and decorations there have been open for a month,
with concerts etc on weekends.
Since my granddaughter is here from her job in Thailand, it is a big celebrtino for us.
