So we still have Kuya's mom in our meeting room because so many are dying that the funeral company can't bury her until today.
Family is all here.
I go on and off to the room: no one there during off hours so I say a prayer then leave...and if someone is there I talk to these local friends and relatives.
So anyway, last night I left early, took a nap and went over at 9 pm and voila Joy's pastor, a small independent Pentecostal church pastor (who is a good guy by the way) was asked to give a talk/sermon or some prayers.
Instead he gave the long boring "You need to accept Jesus and then you can go to heaven" talk that is given at every birthday celebration, wedding etc. sort of evangelizing the captured audience who is there for a different reason and the tall has nothing to do with why they are there
Telling the local Catholics, who often have a personal relationship with God and Jesus and Mary as part of their extended Filipino family, that if they don't do it the right way they are going to hell.
So in the talk there was no mention of the faith of the dead lady. No discussion on how God wipes our tears away and death does not conquer. And of course, no mention of who Jesus is (they don't have to of course because the lax Filipino Catholics already know who he is).
So I told pastor off.
Why do I end up telling off pastors?
My F..... pride of course. And frustration that people are dying of hunger for God but the clergy are busy with meaningless rhetoric or pushing woke stuff that has nothing to do with what ordinary folk face.
Sigh.
Three Hail Marys for me in repentence (St Peter holds the keys and keeps out sinnders, but Catholics know Mary will let them in the side door if they love God and do their best).
