Some American Indian tribes I worked with have a shame culture...children are NEVER hit...they are essentially allowed to be children, and shown by example how to be adults...so you will see many PC types praising that way of raising children....
But what these PC types don't see is that the children are ridiculed...and become very sensitive to ridicule as adults...they have a stiff sense of honor...
