Kill a bird for Castro

Your headlines of the day...

Actually, one of the undercovered stories about Cuba was the persecution of Catholics by continueous propaganda in the state controlled media against the church, while banning American Evangelical missionaries and missionary groups...

So it has been replaced by Santara, a degraded version of African religion....

The reason I say it is a "Degraded" version is because killing animals to have one's wishes come true is considered a form of witchcraft. A pious traditional African might kill an animal to make peace with the spirits or to honor his ancestors, but when one manipulates the spirits for greed or gain, it is considered evil.

So if you want a successful store, you kill and bury an animal. But this idea implies you want rival stores to perish, and since there is no idea of making an honest profit, the idea is that your store will make a profit by overcharging poor people...so you don't pray to God to make an honest profit so you can benefit your extended family and help the community, you kill an animal to whatever spirit so you can get rich and powerful.

And in some places you hear of children "disappearing" when stores open...and sometimes find their mutilated bodies....

So far, Santara has not been associated with such killings, Thank God.
