Local news

Well, a volcano down south is smoking, and up north there was an earthquake.

But in the plains of Luzon, the big news was the tornadoes....

Shhessh. I thought I left them back in Oklahoma...
.
Now, what we REALLY need is a typhoon...there is a drought here...LINK2

It's planting season, so most of the water is going to the rice fields. But the lack of rain means the hydroelectric plant doesn't have enough water to run at full steam (read AIRCONDITIONING...which means a lot of gov't offices close early to save electricity) so we have blackouts...

The Government is already using desperate measures: Catholics will make Friday a day of prayer for rain, and the government is paying planes to seed the clouds. (There have been more low flying planes than usual going over, and I suspect that is what I'm hearing).

The power surges mess up the dsl and we don't run computers on the generator, so my blogging has been spotty.
