CNN had a breathless report of terrorists planning to bomb the US embassy were caught, but the report didn't make the headlines here. ABS CBN has the story.
They've actually been worried about these guys for awhile: Outsiders teaching Saudi recruited Tagalog Muslim converts to make and place bombs in the Manila area. In fact, they were worried about such a bomb at the malls during the Christmas holidays (but the only explosion in a mall was from sewer gas...)
Several other bomb makers were caught in Mindanao, and a previous apartment with bomb making stuff was found a week or two ago, and another a couple of months ago.
But don't blame Bush:Various Arab and Pakistani and Indonesian Al qaeda terrorists have been planting bombs since the early 1990's...
The real danger is that they might have bombed a political rally and really caused trouble...
