Stuff below the fold

The Latest King Tut conspiracy theory: He was killed by a Hippo.

I once wrote about this theory LINK....the problem I have with this is that when I was in Africa, the hippos killed by biting...and took a huge piece of leg out when biting. The X ray would have shown a thigh bone in several pieces, a large chuck of his thigh muscle missing, and the fracture wouldn't have time to start healing.

the location and partial healing of the leg suggests it was a chariot accident, where the chariot crashed and his thigh hit the front of the chariot and broke.
And this type of fracture is still treated with bedrest, making it more probable that he died a week or two later, either from infection of the fracture, from pneumonia (often a complication of bedrest, especially if he cracked some ribs from the accident), or from pulmonary embolism.
