there are a lot of laments about the crazies chasing out Christians from the middle east, and they are correct.
but in the US Islamophobia rules, and these ignoramuses tends to ignore that Islam (and even Arabs) are not monoliths. Indeed, many Arabs in the US are actually Christians, which is why there is a confusion when the MSM discusses how many Muslims live in the USA.
So yes, it is sad to read reports about the Middle East pogroms by the crazies, and the laments that soon there will be no Christian presence in that area.
But these posts ignore the "hidden men": the millions of overseas workers (including at least one million Pinoys) who work in the Middle East as oil workers, drivers, maids, nurses and physicians.
And even in the Arab peninsula, not all Arabs are alike.
Saudi is run by desert tribes and forbids churches to open, although they do hire millions of overseas workers from both Muslim and Christian countries.
But other Arabs are descended from those who have traded with outsiders for about 3000 years (maybe 4000, since they were the middle men between the Indus and Mesopotamian civilizations back then.
Saudi forbids churches and will sometimes raid house churches who hold worship services, although usually if they keep these quiet they have no problem. But you have to throw out your bible and rosary at the airport when you move there to work.
However, this is not true for the smaller countries in the Gulf.
The Pope has just visited one of these countries, the UAE, and held an open air mass for 100 thousand Christians who live in that region.
