Stinky dog food

I changed from generic high pro to pedigree puppy chow after the latest three puppies we kept to replace our aging dogs started eating dog food.... I found that the cats eat it too.

They get a meal of it in the morning, but for lunch and supper, they get what Filipino dog usually eat: Rice, mixed with leftovers and "ulam" (i.e. the soup we usually put over our rice).

I started buying dog food years ago to supplement their diet, because mamadog kept losing her babies... and voila, she started having puppies, sometimes litters of six, which of course we could easily find homes for, since dogs don't live that long here.

MamaDog and Papa dog have died, and the two dogs from their first litter that we kept are getting old and blind at 10 plus years old, so it's just a matter of time until they die on us. Sigh.

the present three puppies are from Gigi, a stray dog I found crying in the ditch outside our home. She was convulsing on and off from eating poisons, and I had to pay for IVs for four days to keep her alive, but alas she is a small dog, so not much protection. However, one of her puppies is almost as large as George, our killer Labrador, and the other two? loud and ADHD... and when all three "attack" in unison, they would frighten off any robber (and sometimes the help). But so far they don't bite the staff like George, who we had to keep on a leash during the day.

Yesterday, as I went to feed the meowing cats, Kuya was there and asked why the dog food stank so much.

Well, here is a film explaining it to you.

well, here the dogs love to go out and take rotten food from the garbage cans, and even roll in it to smell good (Uggh).

And since dog food is not their complete diet, I don't worry about cheap Chinese ingredients poisoning our dogs.
