I am posting this because, for some reason, our cook has been singing this song as she works.

History of the song WIKIPEDIA.

For those of you who watch Korean films, you probably know the song was the tear jerking climax in the zombie film Train to Busan.

at the start of the film, the girl sang the song at a school assembly, but her workaholic father was to busy to attend.

Later, he takes her on a train to Busan to stay with her mother, but the train is infected with zombies (well, it is a horror film).

at the climax of the film the father finds he is infected so sacrifices himself, and  so the little girl (and a pregnant woman, whose husband also was killed protecting her) are the only survivors... but it is the song that tells the soldiers they are not zombies.
