we are signal one, and the typhoon is expected to hit way south of here, meaning we will be hit mainly with rain...unless of course it turns north.

 and in other news, as expected a covid vaccine will soon be available: of course, it's just a coincidence that the announcement was released shortly after the election.... Silly me, just because Pfizer lied that they were not part of the operation warp speed (they were) doesn't mean they might delay the release to please their political allies.

the bad news? the Pfizer vaccine requires refrigeration, so that is a problem for poorer tropical countries.

But of course, this won't be the only vaccine that will be quickly available: not just from the USA but from other countries.

he notes that 47 vaccines are also due to be released/approved in the next few weeks.

Duterte is planning to borrow 300 million dollars to buy the vaccines from the US or from China to stop the epidemic here... but does note that countries will use the vaccine for their own folks so it might be a wait for us to get some.

This is good news, since the economic shutdown is literally killing people in the third world (from malnutrition, from other diseases not being treated properly because people are afraid of going to the hospital) and if the economic problems continue, of course, there is a danger of revolutions.

and note the good doctor mentions that we still face a problem this winter, before the vaccine has been give to enough people to stop covid while the usual winter influenza will probably be killing folks too as it does every year. So hospitals will remain busy.

The press is all pushing Biden won, and here it is assumed to be true.

But there are lots of stuff being questioned including why the MSM declared victory before the counting was finished, or when the numbers were too close to call. Instapundit has a lot of links on their site (Libertarian site). but the real news is that Real Clear politics has an article declaring the election should not have been declared so early. LINK

Under the contentious circumstances of this election, the traditional media’s decision to declare a victor before the official process had run its course has diminished the confidence of Trump voters in the announced result. Even if the declaration of a Biden victory is found to be accurate, the call was premature, and it will make the effort to unify our nation far more difficult.

sounds about right. And the censorship of stories questioning the accuracy of these stories are being censored by the MSM and the big social media.

 our internet is still going off and on during the daytime,  either because kids are overloading the lines doing school work or because PLDT is busy replacing aging lines with fiberoptic cables in our rea.

and Joy is now using a Huawei modem so she can do her zoom calls. She does the business outreach part for us and for an organic coop of farmers in nearby Bulacan.

(Kuya does the farming and is at the farm most of the day trying to get the rice crop in, and dried between typhoon rains. If the crop is not dried properly, the quality of rice goes down so we can't sell it as our gourmet produce, although we can sell it for a lower price as lower quality white rice).

the usual way to dry rice is to spread it on the ground and let the sun dry it; if it rains you have to use a rice drier, and the line at the rice merchants is often long so you might have to wait.

so the repeated heavy rains from nearby typhoons is not helping things.

Me? I'm just busy reading books since the internet is not available during the day.With the rain, often I don't get my afternoon walk with the dogs, so am using Lolo's exercize bike.

But the good news is that since the internet works at night we can still watch our KDramas. Yeeah!
