waiting for the wind

Overcast but no wind or rain yet...the calm before the storm.

We pulled our workers and stick from a trade fair in Manila a day early because we wre afraid the roads would flood and they would be stranded.

An elderly lady who lives next door with her granddaughter died suddenly of a heart attack, so lots of tricycles and cars will be blocking our garage if they hold the wake at her house.

Over the last month we had one storm or low pressure area after another...alas we haven't harvested all the rice yet because too few dry sunny days and the harvester thresher we rent hasn't gotten down their list to us yet.

In other news Kuya is hoping to persuade his 80 year old mom to move here since she is in a nursing home and will be at risk this winter from flu or covid. However if she needs dialysis here she would have to pay fot it herself, since Medicare doesnt pay for care here. But my house is wheelchair friendly and caregivers available, and I can move upstairs to our Bnb apartment that isnt being used due to quarantine discoutrages travel.
